Article creation

All the articles that have been published on our site by their authors will appear in the PUBLICATIONS section, Articles subsection. Here, each reader can look for what interests him. He may make use of filters; search articles by various criteria - by author, subject (capital markets, firms, mutual funds, etc) and possibly by the number of readers or even by number of reader ratings. Each reader can give his vote to the article, which he considers good. Thus he ensures that the best contributions will appear at the top of the list.

In addition to articles each author has the opportunity to display so called PUBLISHED ANALYSES. It is a list of price charts of stocks, bonds, commodities or currencies with comments. The last option for readers to present their views is the discussion. The following text will focus on the description of article and annotated diagram creation. Discussions have already been described in the previous type of user - passive information consumer.

What is the main difference between an ARTICLE and a PUBLIC ANALYSIS?

The article is always a one-time issue - text and images are static. PUBLIC ANALYSIS is active - it is automatically updating dynamic chart (following the current last known price), in which the author can edit only comments and technical analysis features embedded directly into the chart - the trend lines, Fibonacci levels, marking of each wave according to Elliot theory, etc. So if anyone wants to regularly to analyze the same issue of price trends of a certain financial instrument, annotated charts are better than articles.

Writing contributions

All entries user writes in the FINECHARTS MY / MY PUBLICATIONS section. The following figure shows the Article subsection.

The picture shows all the articles that the author has written so far. All articles have already been published; this can be identified by an open green padlock symbol in the left column next to the article titles. However, article may not be published, author may leave it unfinished and unpublished - as drafts. In this case, a red padlock lock appears in the left column. Each line displays further information about the article - the number of responses in the form of a discussion contribution below the article, date of last reaction, number of evaluations, text editing icon and an article removal feature. Article cannot be removed once it receives an evaluation.

On the right side of the previous image the CREATE NEW ARTICLE icon is located. Once you click on it, you go directly into a text editor environment, and you can immediately begin writing.

Image: Finecharts Text editor - picture points out the buttons used for working with pictures and charts. Unlike with other editors there is no need to upload pictures from your computer and store them on our server. Images can be inserted directly into the text - it's very fast. Apart from images imported from an external source, price charts can easily be inserted directly from our database. If user has established his own directory with stock price chart files he can insert these images directly. If used has created no directory, he can insert images created directly in the graphics editor. Inserted chart or a picture may still be edited - reduced / enlarged, cropped or rotated. An embedded graph can even be annotated – i.e. provided with notes and various graphic elements inserted directly into the chart.

Below the article are additional form windows – the Article editor. First, short introductory text should be written from which readers get a quick overview of the article’s topic. It is also necessary to fill out the RELATED SYMBOLS window. Write symbols for stocks whose name appears in the article - if you want users who search the site looking for any information concerning the specific symbol to find your article. For the same reason, fill out the window LIST OF TOPICS, so the article can be found by topic.

Image: In the input form below the article you can set other parameters related to the article, such as date of publication or whether the article should be published for all readers free of charge. If we provide a paid service, we can include the article in this service. Such an article would be accessible only by our paying customers. The very bottom toolbar contains commands used to publish the article or save as a draft with the option, that we will publish it at a later time. Here you can also set the exact date of publication.

On the previous picture we have just finished writing a text analysis of capital markets. Below we have selected the Save as Draft button. The article therefore does not appear in the list of published articles in the USER CONTRIBUTIONS section, but it appears only in the authors articles in the MY POSTS section with a red padlock symbol indicating that the article is not yet published (it is a draft).

Once you decide to publish an article and use the Save and Publish button in the editorial mode, the article appears in the first place among the articles in the PUBLICATIONS / ARTICLES section.

This article appeared in the public USER CONTRIBUTIONS / ARTICLES section.

Within the article it is possible to comment an article in the form of discussion contributions. Article can also be rated. Rating is important for two reasons:

1. Any recognition of the article’s quality by readers is motivating to authors. Featured authors will also get credit from the www.finecharts.com server administration.
2. The best rated articles will be more readily accessible to other readers by using the SORT function. By rating you thus serve other users.
